Aussie company makes the big trip over to Birmingham

LithoTechnics will be showcasing the upcoming latest version of its Metrix software, version 2.0. The update adds the ability to automatically calculate multi-signature bound jobs, either directly from JDF or from operator input.

Rohan Holt, founder of LithoTechnics, claims the Metrix software is unlike any other job planning system on the market.

“We designed Metrix with clear goals,” says Holt. “Ease of use was of paramount importance. Secondly, we wanted to facilitate just-in-time production decisions, so we designed editing to be dynamic and intelligent.”

“We tackled the most difficult type of work first, which is ganging, because we knew it would be a rock-solid foundation for the future. Now, with book work added, Metrix users will benefit from the best of both worlds.”

LithoTechnics is aiming to extend job-planning automation to the broad commercial market with its new software, and to effect a change in the way the printing industry plans and imposes work. Metrix possesses the capability to handle work dynamically and automatically, transforming the layout planning process into a simplified step in the print production workflow.

Metrix 2.0 will be demonstrated in the JDF Pavilion at IPEX on the stand of Positive Focus, distributor for LithoTechnics in the UK. The software will also be shown at various other partner locations throughout the show.

LithoTechnics is a software company focused on providing tools and technologies to enable print workflow automation, and is a full member of the CIP4 Organization. Rohan Holt founded the privately owned company in 2003, and its flagship Metrix software was awarded the prestigious PIA/GATF InterTech technology award in 2005.
