A total of 107 individual stamps were rushed to the streets during the Games, which included the 84 stamps for each Australian gold medal won, and another five stamps each for the opening and closing ceremonies.

As promised by Australia Post, all stamps were available in Melbourne by 12pm the day after the event, and the following day across the other capital cities. More than 100,000 copies of each stamp were produced and distributed around the country every day.
The collection also included another three stamps used in the Australian Commonwealth Champions sheets, featuring the words 'humanity', 'equality' and 'destiny', and the 10 special 'Most Memorable' stamps that celebrated Kerryn McCann's marathon win.
McCann became the most stamped person in Australia after her marathon victory was voted the 'Most Memorable Moment' of the Commonwealth Games by media and sports commentators. These ten stamp releases, plus the one for her gold medal, mean McCann was printed on a total of 11 separate stamps.
