Awards time for the young and not-so-young

The announcement will be made during the combined Printing Industry Day activities on Friday 18 November hosted by Printing Industries NSW region and the LIA.

The day begins at 8.30am with a series of seminars as part of the LIA's Biennial Conference technical program at the Turner Hall, Ultimo Campus of Sydney TAFE. This is followed by a Gala Dinner at the Sydney Shangri-La Hotel.

The dinner will feature Printing Industries NSW Region PRINTNSW Business Achievement Awards and long term membership awards, and the GAMAA-LIA National Graduate Scholarship Prize to be awarded to one of nine finalist graduates. Entertainment will include a liberal lacing of comedy in addition to the award presentations.

Printing Industries Acting CEO, Philip Andersen, said the day-long event was a great example of what could be achieved through a co-operative effort. “The technical program is informative and will pose some thought provoking scenarios including a discussion on the future proofing,” he said.

“The membership awards will acknowledge long time members of Printing Industries. Our Business Achievement awards recognise and honour companies for their initiatives in the all-important areas of OH&S, the environment, business practice and education and training. These areas are not only becoming more important in the business matrix, they are also being acknowledged for creating new opportunities for more efficient and profitable business management.

“Recognition of the success achieved should provide a stimulus for others to look seriously at what they can do beyond just meeting various compliance requirements. The example shown by these companies sets a benchmark that other industry companies can benefit from,” Andersen said.

Speakers on the Day include…
