Back-to-back time-saver print courses
Two back-to-back day-long training courses will be staged in Sydney during November to provide access for print staff needing to travel long distances to attend.
The first, a colour management workshop, will be staged on 24 November and the second, print production and procurement the following day 25 November.
Staged at Printing Industries Auburn office, the scheduling aims to attract non Sydney based companies by providing two key courses with a strong technical emphasis.
According to Ian Walz (pictured), national manager of learning and development at Printing Industries, the timing meant staff travelling from country areas could benefit from two courses in two days minimising the need for additional travel and accommodation.
“The courses finish on Friday afternoon providing the opportunity for attendees to stop over in Sydney to recover or simply take a break and enjoy the sights
before returning home,” he said.
The colour management workshop covers the basics of colour management through to ICC colour profiling, calibration, mapping; RGB, CMYK and LAB colour spaces, proofing options, colour viewing standards, and understanding ISO 12647.2 – process standard offset specifications.
Print production and procurement includes digital prepress workflow, production and procurement specifications, stock selection considerations, printing, binding and finishing options.
