Be inspired by Ipex 2010: George Clarke
There are many reasons to be excited about the up-coming print tradeshow, says George Clarke, president of Ipex 2010 and UK managing director of Heidelberg.
Economic times may be uncertain but the global print industry is once again demonstrating its commitment to Ipex. Printers wishing to survive the global recession and to lift off when the recovery comes cannot afford to miss this show which opens its doors for eight days from 18th May 2010 at the NEC, Birmingham, UK.
Of course, Ipex follows two years after drupa, meaning that many of the innovations that were shown there will be coming to commercial fruition. Ipex will also provide its own technology advances and signposts to future developments.
But this international event is scheduled at a particularly critical time. Every printer in the world is having to look closely at its efficiencies, at ways of remaining profitable and marking themselves out from the ink-on-paper crowd. Nowhere can printers find more inspiration than at this show. If the pundits predicting green shoots next year prove to be right this could be the most significant show ever from both the suppliers’ and printers’ perspective.
Printers should encourage their customers to visit and see just how vibrant the printing business still is. It’s a great opportunity to discuss their current and future requirements, how they envisage their service, quality, environmental and cost requirements changing.
All serious suppliers, including Heidelberg, will be at Ipex because it remains a truly international platform, an event where corporate and technical decisions are made and where business opportunities are created and deals done.
This will be the sixth Ipex I have been to. No exhibition ever makes me feel prouder and I feel especially privileged to be the president of Ipex 2010. It will be a fantastic event, providing a showcase of the best in printing equipment, workflow and consumables and an opportunity to investigate, research, network and buy. Please don’t miss it!
Vistitors from Australia and New Zealand travelling to the show should not miss the great ANZ BBQ organised by Print21. For more information on how to get involved, click here.
