Paper merchant BJ Ball Group has signed up with Double A International to distribute Double A uncoated woodfree (UCWF) folio papers in Australia.
“It seemed like a no-brainer to us,” said Tony Bertrand, BJ Ball’s marketing and business development manager. “We’ve distributed Double A copy paper for many years before they approached us about the Double A Laser printing paper. It’s a great quality product and will strengthen the Double A brand in the market.”
Double A paper is produced from farmed trees grown by over 1.5 million contract farmers in Thailand. The company says it’s unique Farmed Trees initiative saves old growth forests from logging by planting trees in open areas between and around rice fields and other crops, thereby maintaining biodiversity.
The secret to the Double A success is the fast-growing Farmed Trees that yield high-fibre content for quality paper-making, said a Double A International press release that announced the deal. The high-fibre count provides better bulk, a higher opacity and a smoother surface for outstanding print results.
“We are genuinely excited at the prospect of continuing to grow our presence in the Australian market," said Thirawit Leetavorn, senior executive vice-president of Double A. "Making a difference is a core pillar of the Double A philosophy. Whether it’s supporting rural farming communities through our Farmed Tree initiative or through our partnership with the NBCF, social responsibility is integral to our business. BJ Ball will provide ongoing access to our customers with this product now marketed under the brand name Double A Laser."
Double A is a leading global pulp and paper manufacturer and produces Double A paper in more than 120 countries.
BJBall Group is one of Australia’s largest paper and print media distributors and has been a long term partner of Double A across ANZ markets, distributing Double A brand premium copy papers in Australia and Advance Laser folio papers in New Zealand.
