Business Acceleration Solutions from Creo
Creo’s innovative solutions are increasing productivity and efficiency for printers around the world while reducing their operating costs through automation and integration.
Creo solutions address the needs of commercial and publication printers, small to medium-sized commercial printers, on demand digital printers, packaging and newspaper printers, as well as creative professionals.
New Processless Plates

Creo has introduced two important additions to its plate portfolio: a waterless polyester plate for direct imaging presses and a processless aluminium plate suitable for commercial offset printing. The new Clarus WL waterless polyester plate is affordable, easy-to-use and suitable for run lengths of up to 30,000 impressions. It is a drop-in solution for direct imaging presses and delivers superb print quality. The Clarus WL plate is already in use by customers in Europe and North America and will be commercially available in the next quarter.
The Clarus PL plate is a true processless plate and requires no gumming, processing or post-imaging treatment. The new plates are being imaged by the Trendsetter 800 Quantum computer-to-plate (CTP) imaging device on the Creo stand. Processless plates increase the environmental benefits of the computer-to-plate approach since no chemicals are required for processing. The Clarus PL plate is targeted for run lengths of up to 50,000 impressions. Commercialization plans will be announced at a later date.
New Spotless Printing
Creo is launching Spotless printing to allow printers to dramatically reduce the use of special inks in their pressroom. Spotless printing enables printers to represent spot colours on press with process inks, making spot colour replacement easy and accurate.
New Magnus VLF CTP
For the first time, Creo showed at drupa the Magnus very large format (VLF) CTP imaging device for quality imaging with repeatability, reliability, improved functionality, and increased speed for commercial, publication and packaging printers. The Magnus VLF CTP is the fastest full-size fully automated VLF device on the market.
New Solutions Use Open-Standards to Increase Productivity
With the most automation and the highest productivity available today, Creo workflow solutions are developed around the PDF and JDF standards to support integration with over 35 industry leaders via the Networked Graphic Production initiative. Creo joins Adobe Systems Incorporated and Xerox Corporation to demonstrate an integrated digital print and commercial prepress workflow with automation between creative and production processes.
New Prinergy Version 2.3
Version 2.3 of the Prinergy workflow, the newest release of the market-leading PDF prepress workflow, automates workflow plans to allow multiple outputs to be created from one input file, accelerating production and increasing efficiency. Prinergy 2.3 also offers extended prepress integration and workflow automation via the new versions of Synapse Link software 2.0 and the Synapse InSite 4.0 Internet portal into prepress.
New Prinergy Evo
Prinergy Evo is the newest member of the Prinergy workflow family. It provides a more affordable PDF workflow solution that is ideal for small commercial, packaging and newspaper printers. This powerful, PDF processor is easy to use and delivers high-performance productivity to commercial printers. Highly automated and easy to maintain, Prinergy Evo streamlines commercial workflow processes, resulting in significant cost savings.
For small packaging printers, screening options can be added to Prinergy Evo, such as Maxtone hybrid screening, HyperFlex resolution enhancement, DigiCap screening, DotShop software, Raster Scaling, Advanced Trapping, as well as integration with Pandora step and repeat software.
Based on the JDF and PDF open file standards, Prinergy Evo is also suited to newspaper prepress, providing the speed and flexibility that allows newspapers to extend close times and output large numbers of pages faster than ever before.
New Synapse UpFront 3.0
The new version of Synapse UpFront 3.0 production planning software dramatically decreases labour costs in the planning department because manufacturing plans require less time to prepare and their accuracy is greatly improved.
New Synapse InSite 4.0
The new version 4.0 of the Synapse InSite Internet portal into prepress allows print buyers to perform job submission, proofing, and collaboration online over the Internet with increased integration with the Prinergy and Brisque prepress workflows.
New Synapse Link Version 2.0
Version 2.0 of the Synapse Link software features new prepress event data tracking options by job part, including page, surface or separation basis. More powerful process automation has been added for tasks initiated by the business system, including job creation with associated job templates, archive, purge, import/export and retrieve options.
