Call for input on print procurement model

Expressions of interest are being sought from NSW printers to join a Printing Industries subcommittee to develop a print procurement model that may suit NSW Government needs.

Printing Industries CEO Philip Andersen, said that the South Australian, Victorian, Queensland and Federal governments had all moved into new systems of procurement.

“It’s only a matter of time before NSW goes down the same path, so we should be ready with a viable model that meets industry expectations as well as government procurement needs,” he said.

“Late last year we were able to conclude successful negotiations with the Federal Government on a procurement model for Centrelink and the Department of Finance.

“This provided a good outcome for the industry and the government also accepted our position that contracts should not be exclusively based on price, but should also be based on service and quality.”

Expressions of interest should be sent to Printing Industries national manager for policy and government affairs, Hagop Tchamkertenian: hagop@printnet.com.au
