Candidate of the week - Apprentice Printer, Sydney

To become a printer in my lifes passion, I enjoy working and creating the jobs and love seeing the final product.

Work History:
Position: Trainee
Company: Rural Press
Worked from the 19 of February 2006 to present

Duties(in Pre- press):  stacking and marking off plates, customer service, cleaning the machines, filling the machines up with plates, fixing the machines if there was an error, housekeeping (cleaning up pre-press making sure the working area was OH&S safe)

Duties (on the Press): cleaning the press, taking plates off the press, cleaning turbo’s, checking jobs (checking densities with densitometer), cleaning up the quite room, cleaning the press hall (mopping up spills, cleaning up reel breaks, getting rid of old plates) also laying the job out on the press, putting the plates on the press.         


Programs I have knowledge of:
Photoshop CS 2, QuarkXpress

Work Experience:
worked as a volunteer for the Salvation Army from 2002 to 2006

  • Completed my HSC at Colo High School (2006 to 2007)

  • Completed a Cert II in Animal Care and Management (in 2006)

  • Completed  a Cert II in Graphic arts and Print production (2006 to 2007)
