  • August 2006 – February 2008 - Working as a freelance Designer/Finished Artist/DTP Operator.

  • November 2005 – Worked for Croft & Partners as a Typesetter/Desktop Publisher.

  • July 2006 - The work was mostly creating real estate advertising.

  • May 2005 – Working as a freelance Designer/Finished Artist/DTP Operator.

  • October 2005 - March 2004 – Worked for Oxford University Press (Melbourne) as a Designer/Finished Artist.

  • April 2005 - The work was mostly bookwork, from design to preparing files for print.

  • February 2003 – I worked for Oxford University Press (UK) as a Pre-press op/Finished Artist, using

  • February 2004  - the Agfa Apogee pre-press system, and the Agfa Palladio flatbed platesetter. Other duties involved monitoring work-flow through the department, including job allocation; liaison with customers both internally and externally; and to ensure deadlines were met.

  • May 2002 – I lived in Brisbane, Australia, where I worked as a freelance Finished Artist/DTP op

  • January 2003 for various studios and printers.

  • November 1998 – I worked for Blenheim Colour Ltd (UK) as a Pre-press Technician/Finished Artist,

  • May 2002 their primary customer being Oxford University Press (UK) - pattern emerging here!  I was also responsible for controlling the demanding OUP reprints, which included booking in, scheduling, retrieving from archives, allocating work, liaising with the client, sorting out queries, and ensuring schedules were achieved.

  • September 1997 – My family and I emigrated to Australia, living in Perth.

  • October 1998 - Mac operator/artworker.

  • January 1995 – I worked for Abbey Press as a Finished Artist/pre-press operator.

  • August 1997 - June 1994 - I worked at Elsevier Science as a Production pre-editor/illustrator in the Art & Design Dept.

  • December 1995 - Design Department; Elsevier are a major scientific publisher. Elsevier developed a system where all articles are submitted by authors. I would convert these files to be compatible to the CAP (Computer Aided Production) system; clean and structure them using various macros and forward them to the various Editorial departments.Other duties in the Art & Design Department included various DTP & typesetting tasks, using an Apple Mac; software used included Quark, PageMaker and Illustrator.

  • March 1992 - Absolute Field Marketing held the marketing rights for the popular cult TV

  • September 1993 - programme Star Trek. My role as a marketing executive included customer liaison, maintaining accounts with merchandise suppliers, entering customer redemptions onto the Sage Accounting System. I also played a major part in the launch of The Official Star Trek Fan Club of the UK, assisting in the development of a Membership Pack, and the production of a quarterly 32 page 4-colour magazine. Other duties included the design and production of leaflets, mailshots and other point-of-sale material; and liaising with repro and printers.
