Candidate of the week: Print Sales, Victoria

CAREER OBJECTIVE
To apply my expertise of the printing industry in a sales capacity. With a desire to develop solutions to obstacles, along with diplomacy and conflict resolution skills; I enjoy client liaison and relationship building and would be a valuable front-line team member.


EDUCATION SUCCESSES
• Awarded a Scholarly Merit Prize in 1995 for grading within the top five students (Swan Hill Secondary School).

• Following completion of a Fine Arts Degree, my sculptures and art works were selected for exhibition at The Stair Gallery, Westpac Gallery and the Victorian College of the Arts.

• Several of my art works were purchased by the Director of the Victorian College of the Arts.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

LEADING HAND
Colorpak Limited 2001 - Present
An autonomous role with wide-ranging scope for initiating best-practices, along with fostering and building teamwork.
• Adopt and harness leading-lean manufacturing practices for Colorpak’s blue-chip client base.
• Mentoring and training operators across diverse cultural backgrounds as well as inducting new staff members.
• Responsible for implementing quality procedures and performing final checks and proofing on machines.
• Checking and ratifying inward tooling for quality and suitability.
• Supervising maintenance on high-value machinery and educating contract labour force regarding maintenance schedules.
• Liaising with production staff to best match operators, tooling and jobs for maximum output.
• To retain business and improve declining relationship, site visits to Cussons were conducted to inspect the packing line. Solutions were offered to solve issues with double cuts and board failure.
• Participated in an internal working party to investigate and implement new tooling to combat potential safety issues and eliminate waste carrying through machines for Graphic Packaging Intern.


LEADING HAND
Thomas Frame 1996 - 2001
A position which offered latitude for implementing change and efficiencies as well as the opportunity to build crew morale and mentor machine operators.
• Investigated options to maximise profitability for Cussons by adjusting board thickness and size, whilst retaining quality limits.
• Responsible for crewing.
• Ordered consumables and cutting dies.
• Supervised and mentored machine operators.
• Increased production and reduced waste by scrutinising layouts and implementing change.
• Decreased a loss-leading labour cost from 12 hours to 1 hour by amending an extensive Sancella layout and designing tooling to increase company profitability.


PRODUCTION/SALES ASSISTANT
Yvonne’s Creative Ceramic Pty Ltd 1993 - 1996
A highly creative position utilising both manufacturing and retail skills.
Produced both decorative and functional items using ceramic slip cast moulds.· Decorated items with brushwork, air brush techniques and delicate hand painting.
· Developed clay bodies and resin mouldings.
· Participated in the sales process; maintaining/ordering stock and retail sales across casual leased stores and craft carts.
