WORK EXPERIENCE

  • M/s. Usha Screen Printers (1988 to May 2001 and September 2001 to present):

I Started work with M/s. Usha Screen Printers, a screen / offset printing plate making proprietary unit located at Chennai in the year 1988 run by my family as a printing apprentice. I continued to work here till date but for a three month work exposure in a Multi Media Firm.

My Job responsibilities at Usha screen printers during the first two year period from 1988 to 1990 included screen printing of visiting cards, letter heads, covers, greeting/invitation cards, pocket calendars, Stickers, ID cards, and Certificates, ensuring minimum wastage of raw materials and at the same time ensuring quality of the printed products.

From 1991 onwards I took up responsibilities apart from printing, to purchase of raw materials. I was responsible for the quality of raw materials and its availability at production. From 1994, apart from maintaining quality of the finished products, I took responsibility for marketing and sales. I was responsible for order booking as well as payment collection. We also under took printing of Scratch Cards, Textile and Batik Printing.

With growing customer demand for computer based designs, I took a brief break in the year 2000 to undergo an intensive program in Multimedia Application (Diploma Program) to equip myself with the latest tools needed for Digital Designing and Printing. After a brief exposure at another firm specializing in Multimedia Printing, I took back the acquired skills to my parent company Usha Screen Printers.

From the 2001, I am actively using these skills at Usha Screen Printers to improve the firm’s business and also to enlarge our customer base. With these new skills I am now able to undertake jobs on banner printing, printing of calendars, pamphlets/ brochures, and Posters.

Usha Screen Printers now has a vast range of Customers from small business to enterprise customers. A few of the clients of Usha Screen Printers I have generated and handled are given herewith as reference
