Candidates of the week

Senior Mac Operator –  (Sydney metro)
Labels & Packing his forte

A mature, experienced, trade-qualified Mac/Pre-Press virtuoso who plays the Mac keyboard like a Stradivarius violin. Benefitting from being brought up on a diet of traditional bench-planning and impositions – he understands pre-press from a technical, as well as an intuitive perspective.

Familiar with step-&-repeat, distortion-factors, etc (for flexo or gravure applications), he will plug into any label, packaging or screen-printing environment.

Two (2) Experienced Print Reps (one on Sydney’s Northside, the other on the Southside)

Both are a dynamic blend of professionalism, good presentation skills and print-related expertise. These candidate have had a wealth of experience calling on print buyers – large and small. Both are ready to hit the road and both would bring a strong sales capability to any print business wishing to increase their sales intake (there must be at least somebody wishing to increase sales?).

One candidate (Northside) has a strong rapport with designers, agencies and the pony-tail and earring brigade that inhabit the North Sydney area – the other (CDB and Southside) brings a strong understanding of print management to the sales equation).

Operations/General Manager (Sydney)
A Printing Business “Mr Fixit”

Endowed with a good sense of humour, this gentleman is a genuine “giant” who treads the print stage with a high reputation for tough decision-making when necessary, but a soft touch when it comes to motivating and managing staff.

A true manager who takes hold of responsibility, delegates where necessary, and issues clear guidelines to staff – so everybody knows where they stand.

He brings a wealth of experience, coming originally from a pressroom background, he also understands pre-press, and has overseen large- and small-scale businesses (from several 100- down to a dozen staff). He’s got a good understanding of financial issues, being vigilant in cash-management and margin monitoring.

He can walk in tomorrow and take control (if you wish), on a permanent basis, or, he’d consider a short-term “turn-around” role if your business needs a gentle kick up the …, sorry, a quick injection of management expertise.

He is the consummate “change agent”, if you wish to bring about badly needed reforms.

Technical Sales Printing Equipment (Sydney – would consider National coverage)
Attention all equipment/services providers

This gentleman is well known (favourably, I assure you) throughout the industry and would be an ideal sales ambassador selling anything to anyone – although his preference is to sell pressroom or bindery equipment to good folks like you.

He has performed this role with distinction previously, for a large global manufacturer of printing equipment (no guessing), and after rounding-out his education by undertaking several senior production management roles, he wishes to get back into the “supply side”. He assures me it’s not the long lunches it’s the commission!

A professional, with a lot to offer (would suit a senior sales role).

Production Estimator/Planner (Melbourne SE suburbs)
A Production Planner with “the works”

Able to perform a wide range of production admin roles, this candidate has done it all – a walking “production department”. Able to estimate, plan jobs and buy trade-services (although not all at the same time – he is a male, remember), he belongs to that dwindling band who believe in loyalty, commitment and a strong work ethic. Would suit a small/medium printery where the boss wants more time off for golf and needs someone he can trust to manage the “production function”.
