Canon calls on Oce to enter Partner Channel program

Canon Australia’s Partner Channel program sees Oce distribute its imageRUNNER, imagePRESS and imagePROGRAF products locally.

According to Kenji Kobayashi, (pictured) managing director of Canon Australia, the announcement means that Canon now offers users a combination of digital colour technology, service and support.

“By combining the strengths of both organisations, we create one of the industry’s most comprehensive product lines and will drive innovation through expanded research and development capabilities,” he said.

Simon Wheeler, managing director of Océ Australia, said that the deal presented exciting opportunities for both companies. “This partnership gives Océ world-class technology from Canon, and as such allows us to support our customers better.”

The announcement follows Canon Inc. becoming the majority shareholder in Océ, acquiring 85 per cent of shares in March this year. Since the acquisition both Canon Inc. and Océ have been working to identify opportunities to capitalise on the strengths of both organisations. In Australia Canon and Océ will continue to trade as separate entities.

More recently, print and IT services business, CSG, was also appointed a CPC business partner.
