Canon imagePRESS C7000VP brings offset quality for Total Digital Solutions
When Geoff Lovell and Alan Holding of Total Digital Solutions, Western Australia made the trip to England for Ipex in 2006, they didn't expect to walk away having ordered a new machine.
"I saw the Canon imagePRESS 7000 demonstrated and was impressed straight away," Lovell says. "I had read about its release in various publications and knew that I would have to wait for it to be available in Australia, but it offered so many advantages."
These advantages made the wait worthwhile for Lovell and his team at Total Digital Solutions. Since installing the 7000 in August 2007, the company's productivity has improved and the quality of the work produced has strengthened Total Digital Solutions' reputation even further.
"At the end of the day, most customers won't pick up a job and say 'I wonder what this was printed on?, but all customers love the results that they've been given," Lovell says.
Smiles all round: Geoff Lovell with Murray Scott from Canon Australia and Alan Holding.

The 7000 is complete with a saddle stitch document finisher option, which has helped in the company's production of corporate documents. "We have found the online finisher to be a fantastic production tool," Lovell says. He lists other standout features such as the Duplo DC-645 cutter, slitter and scoring machine as helping to achieve a perfect non-cracked cover finish.
Lovell, who has been involved in digital printing for 19 years, has never before seen a machine capable of achieving quality that is so closely aligned to offset. He believes that this will benefit his company enormously.
"The 7000 compares favourably with offset and its ability to print onto non-coated traditional cut laser sheets and coated offset stocks is a big advantage."
"The 7000 has been able to differentiate us in the marketplace and now enables us to get more work from clients," he says.
