Canon keeps its eye on colour management

Canon reinforces its commitment to the digital offset market through the launch of the Eye-One Process Control colour management system.

Canon's Eye-One Process is designed to be used in conjunction with Canon imagePRESS digital offset device, to achieve consistent colour from monitor, to proofing, to digital or offset production.

Eye-One Process Control is designed to provide easy and complete control of colour consistency across a broad range of applications, covering the gamut from simple hardware calibration across digital devices or a sophisticated end-to-end colour management workflow service. Canon colour consultants will work with businesses to create the optimal solution that delivers consistent and accurate colour with minimum effort.

The software suite is designed to work with imagePRESS devices optimised to Printing Industry Standards, offering the user consistent colour across a full range of input and output devices. Further, the system offers the ability to specify colour guidelines and proofing standards to customers and business partners and can manage complexities like spot colours or colour changes due to paper stock.

The software package provides complete accuracy and consistency whether it's used with an LCD or CTR monitor, or laptop. Altering settings is straightforward and done by adjusting features like the colour temperature, gamma, luminance, contrast and brightness. It also enables users to accurately view the end results on-screen before printing, which eliminates the need to tweak and re-print costly proofs and colour jobs to achieve the desired results and save money and time.

Full reporting is included to ensure a printer is performing to standard and producing accurate work and the software automatically implements corrections to ensure the best results with minimal operator interference.
