Canon poised for growth with new senior resources

Canon Australia has increased its Production and Graphic Arts commitment with the appointment of two new senior professionals

"We are focused on growth in the Production and Graphics Arts market, and the resourcing of the new positions demonstrates Canon's commitment to further servicing this sector," said Steven Brown, Market Segment Manager, Production and Graphics Arts, Canon Australia.

The new appointments include Steven Lockwood as Assistant Product Manager and Jenny Melville as Industry Marketing Specialist.

"We're seeing strong growth opportunities in specific sectors of the market, particularly the digital bureau and in-plant market, as well as the wide-format market. The new Assistant Product Manager will help to drive the expansion of the Canon business in these and other areas of the production and graphic arts market.

"We're equally focused on the need to sustain and grow the deep knowledge of our salesforce by providing the necessary training and marketing tools to assist them in meeting the needs of their customer base. The new position of Industry Marketing Specialist will help drive the development of sales tools and marketing programs to ensure that we provide excellent levels of customer service at every touch-point. This position will also be responsible for tracking industry trends in the market, as well as identifying business solutions where Canon has a relevant role to play," said Steven Brown.

Stephen Lockwood brings valuable experience and insight to the position of Assistant Product Manager, having previously held senior positions in the printing industry with Xerox worldwide. Stephen has over 15 of experience in production and graphics arts marketing and has a first-class Honours degree in Physics.

"I'm delighted to have this opportunity to work with a company like Canon, which is establishing its strengths in the digital market. The operating environment today is vastly different to the previous one, in that our customers now need to be familiar with the entire production process, including networking, the workflow and the range of outputs of hardware and software working in tandem," said Steven Lockwood.

Jenny Melville also brings strong marketing skills to the new position of Industry Marketing Specialist, having worked in previous roles for Epson in Australia and as the Research and Marketing Manager for Allianz based in South Korea. Jenny has academic qualifications in Marketing and is currently undertaking her Masters in Marketing.

"One of the core focus areas of this position will be to sustain and enhance Canon's industry relationships, particularly in such a rapidly changing business landscape. We need to continue to work closely with the key stakeholders in this industry so that Canon is a recognised industry player.

"I'm also excited at the opportunity of developing and implementing marketing tools for our salesforce. Having a deep and incisive understanding of our customer base means that we will be in a far stronger position to provide customised solutions, thus increasing the value that we bring to the customers' business," stated Jenny Melville.
