CJ King goes digital with Currie Group and two HP Indigo 5500s
Long-standing offset veterans, CJ King, expand into digital after being wooed by the HP Indigo 5500.
It took some careful consideration, but manager Chris King confirmed a deal with Currie Group in Melbourne that would see the arrival of two HP Indigo 5500 presses, a four colour and a six colour to CJ King's production facility by November 08.
"While CJ King will continue to be at the forefront of CMYK offset trade printing, digital now has established itself as vital part of the future of printing in Australasia and we have embraced it," said Chris King.
"With over 4000 clients on our database, we have been constantly turning away jobs that fit perfectly into the digital workflow. We will be taking a serious look at the short-run market and offering 24-hour turn around times on most of our standard products."

According to Chris Temov, manager of business development, (pictured) the digital printer can take CJ King in new directions, giving them to opportunity to begin producing short-run magazines, photobooks and direct marketing. It also frees up the offset presses so that more work can be taken on board.
"It's imperative that if we offer a 24-hour turn around, we must maintain it. We have made a huge commitment to digital we can't afford to drop the ball," added Temov.
Phillip Rennell, general manager of Currie Group's digital business said that the company was excited about this development in the trade printing market, which enables HP Indigo technology to be accessed by a large number of CJ King clients.
"After a tough selection process we were pleased to reach an agreement with CJ King and really think it's a great opportunity for the both companies," he said.
