CJ King strikes gold in Queensland
Trade printer CJ King opens new production facility on the Gold Coast.
Expected to be fully operational by October this year, the production centre in Biggerra Waters, Queensland, is an attempt for the business to improve its services on the east coast of Australia.
Chris Temov, (pictured), business development manager, told Print21 that the increasing costs of freight, coupled with time differences around the country, meant that having a greater presence on the east coast was essential for the company to move forward.
“Initially, we will be setting up a four and eight-colour offset press, HP 5500 digital press and various finishing machinery,” he said. “Our accounts and estimating departments have been running out of Queensland for the past three years and this will continue from our new print facility.”
According to Temov, the company will still retain the bulk of its magazine and long-run work in Perth. “Our plan is to maintain the WA facility but just move some of the work to QLD to improve turn-around and delivery times to the east coast,” he said. “It'll also mean we don't have to deal with the two-hour time difference, so an overall improvement to service on both sides of the country.”
