Cleaner Printing Technology program details released
Printing Industries releases the full schedule details for its national Transitioning to Cleaner Printing Technology workshop program. Starting mid-April the three-hour free workshops will run across the nation via capital cities.
According to Bill Healey, Printing Industries CEO, the workshops form part of a strategy to tackle the energy cost challenge being faced by the printing industry.
“Energy costs are escalating and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. It’s very important that companies have the best tools at their disposal to manage these costs rather than letting them eat further into profit margins.
“Printing Industries' goal is to develop a framework to help address the cost challenge and one important aspect of this is delivering useful and practical information and support tailored to printing business structures,” he says.
Healey (pictured) feels that in addition to demonstrating how to minimise energy consumption within existing structural and technology conditions, the seminars would also provide information on developments in digital and conventional printing press technology and their role in maximising energy efficiency.
“We will also be providing information on the results of our recent energy
survey and on how our new Buying Group for members can facilitate cheaper electricity purchasing, which we have already established can be in the vicinity of 11 per cent for a mid-sized printing company,” he adds.
Healey welcomes the support of Federal Government funding for the workshops under the Enterprise Connect Workshops, Industry Intelligence and Networking (WIIN) initiative. All workshop sessions run from 8am to 11am (refreshments provided) at the following venues:
