Colanco Printing enters a new dominion

Sydney-based printer, The Dominion Group, purchases Colanco Printing and re-brands as The Dominion Colanco Print Group.

The Dominion Group has been operating throughout Sydney for the past 59 years; first running from the bedroom of now retired John Gage, before being passed over to his youngest son, Kelvin.

Colanco Printing began in 1978 as a partnership between three people, employing a team of 30. The two groups have worked together extensively, with enough synergies to combine forces.

"Both companies have shared a strong, mutually beneficial relationship for over ten years," said Kelvin Gage, managing director of The Dominion Group (pictured).

"This coming together is designed to provide the customers of both organisations with a more streamlined service in an increasingly demanding market."

Print production will remain located at Dominion's current facility in Silverwater with a new print management warehouse also in the same suburb. As a result of the purchase, Dominion Colanco will also be served by a city-based design office.

Gage added that the majority of the Colanco staff will be part of the new entity.
