ColoRite launches a low cost, accurate PMS ink matching system.

An easy, effective and economical colour matching system has long been one of the most sought after utilities in printing. Now the ColoRite Matching System allows printers to match customer’s colours no matter what the stock or the ink, simply and effectively

The Pantone colour system is the well-established industry benchmark for choosing and matching ink spot colours. However, the single formulas it provides for a colour are only precise when made from perfect Pantone inks and used on the same quality and colour of media as was originally used to create the Pantone book.

Any variation in the basic ink colours used or the media that is to be printed will lead to colour inaccuracy. If a special colour is required, which is not an exact Pantone colour, then the closest formula needs to be adjusted by trial and error to achieve a good match.

Supplied with a full spectral data set of PMS colours and a database for the exact brands of inks being used, the ColoRite Matching System compensates for variations in basic ink colour and strength, as well as media colour and quality to provide accurate matches for any colour. The system calculates multiple formulae for a colour, showing match accuracy, quality, metamerism and the cost for each formula so the best, most cost effective may be chosen for the match.





If weighing errors or other factors in preparation of a colour cause inaccuracy, the ColoRite System will measure the colour error and calculate a precise correction to be added to the ink to achieve an accurate match.

The ColoRite System will calculate additions required for waste ink to be converted to another colour so it may be used rather than stored. The System also has full data storage of colours and formulae, providing excellent facilities for quality control. This is readily used to demonstrate colour accuracy to customers.

The system is suitable for use with all types of ink in all printing processes.
