The brightly liveried iconic semitrailer is packed with graphics gear, including the latest HP Indigo 3050, and a range of Horizon finishing equipment as well as smaller items such as business card printers. The inaugural Tasmanian showing proved hugely popular. According to Bernie Robinson, general manager of Currie Group, it seemed as though every printer in town came to call.

“We had a steady stream of printers through all day Monday and right up to when we closed shop at six on Tuesday night. People told me how much they appreciated our efforts at taking the trouble to bring the equipment across to Tasmania. We did some very good business and came away with plenty of solid inquiries,” he said.

The vididly coloured pantech has now shifted up to Launceston and Robinson extends a warm invitation to all graphics professionals in the area to come and visit. Live demonstrations, informed explanations of the technology and insights into the industry’s trends by the experienced team have proved a hit wherever the Colour Express has travelled.

Tasmania is the latest destination following a successful tour of Western Australia and South Australia earlier in the year. Once it recrosses the Strait, the mobile showroom will travel north to Queensland, where it will put on an exhibition at the University of Queensland in Toowoomba, June 21 & 22.
