Colour standards not to be ignored

Chairman of Australia’s Colour Standards TC130 committee, Printing Industries CEO Philip Andersen, says no company is too small to consider implementing the standard.

“At a time when business is being squeezed from many directions and maintaining a competitive edge is increasingly difficult, adoption of the AS ISO 12647-2 colour standard is a must consideration for any printing company,” he said.

“All industry businesses have to be able to move forward and a first step for many can be to find out, in laymen’s terms, what adoption and implementation of the Standard could mean for their business and, equally as important, how they can go about it.”

Andersen said the You Can Do it! Printing Colour Standard The Complete Pathway dinner seminar being staged in Sydney next week was the ideal opportunity for printing company management to get a “grass roots” briefing from which they could assess the suitability of Standards for the business.

Confirmed speakers for the dinner seminar include: Craft Inprint’s National Operations Manager, David Hopewell who will provide the case study on what printing to AS ISO 12647-2 standard has done for Craft; Stream Solutions Design Studio Manager, Dave Mann discussing What Customers Want; and Kayell Australia Graphic Arts & Print Specialist, Luke Woolridge discussing what has to be done to achieve the internationally recognised printing standard.

The seminar is being staged by Printing Industries and the Lithographic Institute of Australia (LIA) next Tuesday 22 September from 6pm at Five Dock RSL Club. All attendees will receive a Take Away Check List to help them take the necessary steps within their business.

Bookings for the dinner seminar close this Friday 18 September. Tickets are $70 each and can be reserved by contacting Lima at Printing Industries on (02) 8789 7300 or e-mail: lima@printnet.com.au or by downloading the registration form here.
