Colourworx looks forward to bright future with first HP Designjet L65500

New Zealand’s first HP Designjet L65500 goes live in Auckland-based printer, Colourworx.

According to managing director, Shaun Jackson, the decision to invest in the new machine was in part due to enhancing his company’s environmental credentials. “We were keen to be the first company in New Zealand to take on the HP latex ink technology because of the enormous potential we see in being able to produce environmentally responsible print,” he said.

Colourworx, which is over 10 years old, currently manufactures a range of products, including vehicle graphics, retail POS, displays, flags, banners and interior and exterior decor.

Now, Jackson sees the company moving into newer directions thanks to the L65500. “This printer will enable us to be a leader in the emerging green print market and to also explore opportunities at government and corporate levels,” he said.

“At present, we are product-testing a range of biodegradable and other environmentally friendly substrates to ensure we go to market with a comprehensive green offering.”

Jackson admitted that the New Zealand economy had taken a beating over the past 15 months, but he was not deterred from expanding Colourworx’s press offerings. “You can’t sit still; you need to build on your strengths and invest in technology that will enable you to provide total solutions,” he said.
