Complete Colour Printing joins takeover action by buying BD Graphics
Staff knowledge and a strong client base were cited as the reasons behind Complete Colour Printing's decision to buy BD Graphics, a privately owned printing and publishing company, also located in Melbourne.
"Consolidation within our industry is not the exclusive realm of the big players," said Tim Michaelides, managing director, Complete Colour (pictured on right with Geoff Lawyer, general manager). "Over the last 15 years our business has grown purely organically. Our primary focus has been on building a profitable platform from which to implement our next phase of growth and the continual development of the Complete Colour Printing brand."
"We're very happy with the purchase," said Geoff Lawyer, general manager, Complete Colour Print. "Their staff are very professional and we're looking forward to welcoming them on board."
But BD Graphics isn't the only business that Complete Colour Print has its eyes on; the company is set on further buyouts. "It's the first of many steps in our acquisition path," Lawyer said.
All staff from BD Graphics will make their way from Mulgrave over to Cheltenham to join Complete Colour, which has now doubled its factory size along with purchasing new equipment including two new TH82 Heidelberg folding machines and six station-plus coverfeed stitchmasters, also from Heidelberg. The company, known for its commitment to the environment, denies that this acquisition and growth is in any way a move from its roots.
Lawyer believes that the future is bright for the two groups who will benefit from coming together as one. "We look forward to integrating the clients and staff from both companies within the Complete Colour operations," he said. "We are confident that this union will strengthen our market position and present us with fantastic opportunities to continue growing the business."
