Stepping into the Currie mobile showroom in Bendigo proved a decisive moment for the Mulqueen Brothers from Bendigo as Bernie Robinson showed them the latest in Horizon finishing equipment.
Proving that regional printers are keen to see live demonstrations of the latest technology, without having to travel to the city, The Currie mobile showroom blazed a trail through country Victoria, before heading over to Adelaide. Consistent numbers came to visit the iconic showroom to witness demonstrations and examine a wide range of prepress, press and postpress technology. Apart from a display of Horizon finishing equipment there is a HP Indigo 3550 as well as a Cron CTP.
After Mick Mulqueen, of Mulqueen Printers, took a close look at the Horizon collating and finishing line, he realised it was just what his family business was looking for. He bought a Horizon VAC-1000A Main 10 bin Tower and a SPF 200 L Stitchliner. (*see bottom of page for a full list of purchases.)
As the show moved over to Adelaide another satisfied customer was Rob Hansen, Hansen Print & Design at Naracoorte. He picked up a Horizon CRF 362 creaser/folder for the family business after examining it closely in the showroom.
According to Bernie Robinson, managing director Currie Group, the reception of the big pantech is very enthusiastic. “We’ve had a great time. Plenty of printers coming around to see us in country Victoria and here in Adelaide at the Bloods football ground, we’ve had to extend our time to fit in everyone who wanted to come,” he said. “It’s pleasing to see so many printers that are very positive. There’s no doubt that they believe things have picked up.”
This weekend the Currie truck heads over the Nullarbor Plain to Perth where it’ll rest up until after Easter, reopening its doors on 29th April – 1st May at the Currie Group Office, 13 Sangiorgio Court, Osborne Park, WA.
