Creo continues to hold its VLF market dominance
This adds to Hannanprint’s already existing Creo Trendsetter VLF CTP system. The new device is the Magnus 6383 VLF – the largest in the Magnus family – with a maximum plate imaging size of 2,050 x 1,510mm. The Magnus is designed to service large web presses, such as those at the Alexandria plant.
“We searched the world, checking out all the different breakthroughs in technology, went to head offices and manufacturing plants – but in the end we came back to Creo. They provide not only best in class products, but the relationship and after sales support they offer is also very good, “confirmed Henk Binsbergen, prepress manager.
The Magnus is the fastest fully automated VLF platesetter on the market, imaging 15 2,050mm x 1,510 mm plates per hour at 2400 dpi. When smaller plates are loaded two at a time, it images 31 B1 707mm x 1,000 mm pph at 2400 dpi.
The Magnus builds on the success of the market-leading Creo Trendsetter VLF imaging device, introduced in 1995. Productivity has been improved by using higher power heads, new electronics, and a loading architecture that reduces non-imaging time. The Magnus VLF allows portrait-plate and dual-plate loading — two plates can be loaded side-by-side to further increase imaging speed.
“The owners and management of IPMG are passionate about the print media and lead the CtP revolution in Australia,” says Bruce Sinnott, General Manager Marking and Digital Services, IPMG, “The tangible benefits that such new technology offers to the print buyer are important factors in an investment decision.”
“We see that not only our technology, but our service, support and added value propositions, puts Creo again in a market leadership position. The Magnus VLF is the next generation of Creo product, offering for the high volume and publication market. Creo continues to have a dominant position in this market segment.” says Gary Hardman Group Account Manager, Creo.
