Currie Group has confirmed it will be the largest exhibitor at PacPrint13 in May, with Phillip Rennell, sales and marketing director, announcing that it has committed to a massive 990m2 stand in what he describes as a ‘show of support’ for its customers and for the industry.
“There’s no doubt the past few years have been enormously challenging for the print and graphic communications industry,” he acknowledges, “but the short to medium term looks far more positive. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand, where we will be creating a ‘complete customer experience’ with solutions from a number of our high profile partners including HP, Horizon, Scodix and others.”
It appears the Melbourne show is bucking the international trend that has seen shows such as Ipex in London next year hit with a wave of cancellations. A slew of new exhibitors have confirmed their attendance at PacPrint13 - no doubt a great relief to the organisers.
HP also confirmed its PacPrint13 attendance this week despite dropping out of Ipex. All of the other high profile suppliers who've lowered the boom on London – Kodak, Fuji Xerx, Agfa and Komori – will be at Melbourne. Heidelberg has already shocked the industry by its announcement last year that it was not participating, a decision that would have been unthinkable a couple of years ago.
Other industry players who have confirmed their attendance over the past couple of months, including Spectra Training, Alto Recordah, Rojo Pacific, GMS Pacific, Label Line, Royle Bind, Rotary Engineering, Herben Numbering Systems, Prismatic Inks, Impression Technology and BJ Ball. At the time of going to press, 100 companies had confirmed their attendance.
Ian Martin, PacPrint13 Chairman, welcomed the news that key exhibitors are confirming earlier space reservations for the industry’s premier event.
“In an industry which is changing so rapidly, it’s vital to stay up to date with the very latest – in fact, I don’t think you can afford not to if you want to capitalise on recovering markets and grow your business, either by finding better ways to exploit current markets or by exploring innovative new options and revenue streams,” he says.
“We firmly believe one of the best resources they will have to assist them in that planning will be attendance at PacPrint13, and we’re delighted that Currie Group, HP and so many other major names in the industry agree.”
Martin also says the variety of products and services on show is likely to be even broader than in previous shows, with a much stronger representation in areas like innovation, W2P, wide format, digital print, business services, e-business and cross-media.
“All in all, it promises to be a very varied, busy and positive show and the addition of features like the Business Improvement Workshop series, together with the popular Forum Series, the co-location with the VIIE sign and display show and the celebration of the 30th National Print Awards during the event will deliver even more value,” he says.
“There’s no doubt PacPrint13 will provide the best opportunity in four years to gather the information, ideas, product knowledge and contacts businesses need to help them equip their businesses for the future. Certainly, that’s what our exhibitors are aiming to deliver.”
PacPrint13 will run from 21-25 May this year at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and will be co-locating with the Visual Impact Image Expo (VIIE). For more information, PacPrint13
