Currie's Sydney open house brings them in

The centrepiece of the Currie open house, held in the distributor's showroom at its Sydney HQ in St Leonards, is the Horizon Stitchliner 5500. The machine brings together the capabilities of the original collating/bookletmaking systems with conventional saddlestitching lines.

Steve Dunwell, NSW/ACT state manager for Currie, claims the 50 or so companies Currie has hosted through its doors have been impressed with the effectiveness of the Horizon Stitchliner 5500.

“It performs efficiently in a single operation, and the quality of the booklets coming off it is fantastic,” says Dunwell. “The industry is finding quick turnarounds are of increasing importance, so its swift changeovers and 5,500 booklets per-hour capacity certainly helps in this regard.”

“This first open house has been great for Currie, because when people see then machine they are surprised with what it can do. They are just not expecting to see that sort of quality on a $280,000 device.”

There are eight Horizon 5500 machines already installed in Sydney alone, with approximately another 40 scattered around the country.

Dunwell confirms there will be another open house in approximately eight weeks time, where Currie plans to this time show off its top-of-the-line digital press, the HP Indigo 5000.

“Our plan is to hold regular open house nights to show off our range,” says Dunwell. “It offers them a great chance to see exactly what our equipment can do, and our customers can even bring in their own jobs to get an idea of how it would perform on their own factory floor.”

Besides its top-of-the-line Stitchliner, Currie is also showing off its SPF20 booklet maker, what Dunwell refers to as the company's 'bread and butter' machine, as well as its Horizon guillotine and folding machines.

Currie will be staging the last of its open house sessions today at 10am and 4pm, to RSVP contact Allison Whitelaw on (02) 8425 7425 or toll free on 1800 338 131.
