Printing businesses should focus on managing energy to cut their power bills, according to experts from leading business services company, Ernst & Young (EY). Speakers from EY will feature in a Printing Industries webinar next week that examines exactly how printers can cut costs by managing their energy consumption.

“There are many reasons why printing businesses need to focus attention on energy but the potential cost savings and environmental benefits are significant for almost every business,” said Charlie Knaggs, EY senior manager on the Climate Change and Energy team, and a co-presenter of next week’s webinar. "Enhanced energy management offers some of the best opportunities to improve our productivity, by producing more with less energy," he says.

Knaggs has 10 years’ experience helping companies to design and implement energy management systems, identify and invest in energy efficiency measures, and access government funding for energy upgrades.

Co-presenter Madeleine Hoskins is the senior consultant on the Climate Change and Energy team and a certified energy efficiency specialist.  She has three years’ experience identifying, specifying and costing energy efficiency upgrades in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

The webinar will begin at 1pm (AEST) on Wednesday 15 July and will cover topics including: why managing energy is important; the fundamentals of energy; how to manage energy better; energy efficiency technologies in the print sector; and building a business case for investing in energy management.

The 30 minute webinar will be followed by a short Q&A session.
