CyraChrome grows big and green
Display printers can breathe easy. CyraChrome is proud to present a safe, user-friendly large format print solution for the production of outdoor signage and displays.
This particular sector is a booming part of today’s graphic arts market but many users recognise there is a need for safe alternatives to solvent-based systems. Now the wait is over with CyraChrome, presenting a genuine alternative thanks to the combination of Agfa’s :Grand Sherpa Universal inkjet printer with Eco-Solvent Plus inks.
“We are delighted to bring this new large format solution to the market,” said Michael Laird, CyraChrome Managing Director (pictured left with Bruce Lowery, Agfa National Sales Manager, Distributors). “We have been very successful in recent years with inkjet proofers and large plotters so this is a natural extension of our current expertise.
This blend of technologies is designed to deliver high quality, durable prints capable of lasting up to three years in outdoor applications such as posters, point-of-sale displays, banners, backlit signage and vehicle graphics.
The addition of the Eco-Solvent Plus solution to CyraChrome’s product portfolio builds on the company’s ground-breaking work in the field of inkjet proofing where it has been one of the pioneers of new all-digital production processes.
“We believe that, in combination with Agfa’s proven technology, we can offer a safe, tailor-made inkjet printer service for the professional signage and display market.”

The new printer is available in three sizes with printing widths of 1263mm, 1643mm and 2230mm. Print resolution is variable from 360 dpi to 720 dpi up to 1440 dpi and it can print up to eight colours with a top production speed of 40 m2 per hour. A wide range of coated and uncoated media is available including vinyl and self-adhesive vinyl, photograde paper and backlit film.
Bruce Lowery, Agfa National Sales Manager, Distributors, said the Eco-Solvent Plus solution being marketed nationally by CyraChrome is ideal for users wanting a safe alternative to solvent inks without sacrificing quality or stability.
“We regard the inkjet market as a very important one for the future and we believe this combination of inkjet printer and eco-friendly inks is the right way forward for the signage and display market,” he said.
“We are absolutely delighted to have CyraChrome on board with us representing Agfa’s large format inkjet solutions.
