David Atkinson's Darwin-based printer Action Print has shut its doors and entered voluntary liquidation over a "non-sizeable" debt.

The company had been winding down before its liquidation, according to liquidator Stuart Reid of Rodgers Reidy.

"They ceased to trade at the end of February and sold their remaining assets – plant and goodwill – to another printing firm in town," he said. "They were unable to repay their debts, which were not sizeable, but that led to the appointment of a liquidator."

Based in Winnellie near Darwin airport, and founded in 1987, Action Print's phone number has been disconnected and its website is unavailable.

It was offering an integrated design, print, digital print, wide format print and copy service, with three Heidelberg offset presses, digital presses and a wide-format printer.

Reid could not comment on the size of the debt, the identity of the creditors, or to whom Action's assets were sold.

The printer's former clients included private, commercial, and government organisations including the City of Darwin, beverage producer Lion, the Australian Education Union, and Anglicare NT.
