DES is cementing its long-running partner with Western Australian graphic arts supplier with a merger of the two companies.
Finchers, which is a long-established supplier to the graphic arts and sign & display market in Malaga, has acted as DES’ main WA agent for years.
Now, DES, which maintains a broad distribution footprint in Australia’s eastern states, hopes the amalgamation of the two suppliers will create the most comprehensive portfolio of digital imaging products, consumables and services in the Western Australian market.
The move comes only months after DES took on former Anitech WA state manager, Len Page, to help oversee its expansion in the state’s market. Page has now been named as the WA state manager for the new business that will arise from the merger, and he will be supported by the existing Finchers staff members in his new role.
“I would like to extend a warm welcome to all Finchers customers and staff and look forward to the start of an exciting new phase in the development of our business,” said Ian Clare (pictured), DES managing director. “As leading suppliers of integrated digital imaging solutions, our two companies share many common goals such as a belief in innovative technology, a commitment to customer support and the development of highly trained product specialists.
“The pace of change in today’s digital environment demands that suppliers continue to evolve and improve their product offerings to meet customers’ needs. This is a goal we both share passionately,” he said.
For customers of both companies, DES says it will be ‘business as usual’. The new business will continue to support and maintain all products currently offered by Finchers and DES.
Looking to the future, Ian Clare says that the merger is not just an end in itself but rather a platform from which to explore new business opportunities.
