DES is delivering packaging value to PacPrint punters with the new Autobox box-making machine from the HIPAK Kinetic range, with the machine garnering interest among punters at the show – and now also a recipient of a Print21 PacPrint Hot Pick.

The Autobox is considered to be one of the most advanced short run box making machines in the market – its addition to this year’s PacPrint saw it receive a Print21 PacPrint Hot Pick.

It takes board in one side and produces finished flat pack boxes out the other, and it can easily switch between a variety of box types and sizes. Russell Cavenagh, DES sales director, says the Autobox looks set to fill a much-needed short run box-making gap in the market.

“It only takes 90 seconds to change from one box type to another box type and it produces short run custom-sized boxes,” says Cavenagh, who was on hand to receive the PacPrint Hot Pick from Print21publisher, Patrick Howard. “We think there’s a gap in the market for people wanting short run custom shaped and sized boxes.”

DES says it wants to help PacPrint punters to make a stand at this year’s show, with the company going with the theme, ‘Stand out from the crowd’ for its showing in Melbourne.

Given DES’ growing range of print equipment, consumables and services, it certainly has an exhaustive array of tools at its disposal to help just about anyone in the industry stand out.

DES is focusing on showing visitors how profitable the short-run end of the market can be, with the Autobox HIPAK ‘Kinetic’ custom short run box making system which can produce up to 50 different box styles, typically running jobs in less time than it takes to set a printer slotter.

The stand also features the EFI Jetrion UV Inkjet label presses, among DES’ many other products.
