DES gets a larger piece of the Apple pie with takeover
The acquisition is very good fit for DES, according to Russell Cavenagh, sales director, DES. "Rochester has a large presence in many of the markets we've been in for many years. They operate in the professional Apple market, studios, agencies and prepress houses, so there is considerable overlap between our customers and theirs. It's a good extension of DES. We have taken on a number of Rochester staff who are very well regarded in the industry," he said.
Among those making the move over to DES is Russell McLennan, newly appointed technical account manager. "I have for many years worked with DES on a number of strategic proofing solutions and have on all occasions been impressed by their level of expertise and professionalism.
"As with Rochester, DES offers real strength in their attitude to client service. I see my new position here at DES as a continuation of all of the strengths of the Rochester service model, with enhanced response, supply and solutions provision through the proven support structure that for many years has kept DES at the top of the proofing and wide format market."
Existing Rochester customers will now be able to access a greatly extended product range and the increased support DES has to offer. Representing leading brands such as Epson, Canon, Best/EFI, HP, Chromaticity, Roland, Quato, Chromajet, Spinjet, Colortrac, Gretag and X-Rite, DES will also now support Adobe Software. With over 70 staff across Australia, DES has a team of experienced staff with a solid background in graphic arts that understand the needs of the creative industry.
DES currently provides imaging solutions including large format printers, Best/EFI colour management software, colour management training and consulting, imposition proofing and colour accurate monitors. Recognised for integrated proofing workflow systems and Chromaticity colour management training, DES is a leading player in the colour critical markets of proofing, photographic and fine art.
