DES wraps up AVT agency to the transTasman
DES expands into labels and packaging after being appointed the distributor for AVT in Australia and New Zealand.
According to Rony Shmulevitch, AVT's sales and marketing director, the company chose to partner with DES for its reputation. "We are very pleased to be working with DES. They are an experienced, innovative organisation and users can look forward to enhanced local support and technical service as a result of the new partnership," he said.
Ian Clare, managing director of DES, said that decision was a good fit for the two. "Taking on the distribution of AVT, the world leader in automated inspection services compliments our core business and customer needs," he said.
Both companies agree that the move will increase innovation, with the shared experience providing new technical solutions for the packaging and label markets.
"We will be working closely with AVT to ensure a smooth transition to the new services and look forward to providing new and innovative technical solutions to the packaging and label markets," said Russell Robertson, sales director, DES.
Robertson believes that AVT's products will be well received throughout the Transtasman. "It’s certainly the market leader globally, it’s a well-respected product and we’re looking forward to this partnership," he said.
AVT offers PrintVision/Jupiter, a process control platform for automatic print defect detection for the wide web flexographic and packaging applications. For label and narrow web printing, AVT provides the PrintVision/Helios, an automatic inspection solution that identifies defects on labels as soon as they occur.
