Digital cooperative calls for new members
Cooperative Sydney Digital Print opens its doors to the public in search of new members.
The Cooperative, which is a collaboration of 13 different printing companies, was founded in September 2006. According to chairman, Kerim El Gabaili, it offers members a way of "getting the benefits of expensive equipment to compete with people who can't afford to buy $2 million worth of equipment."
On Thursday 21 May, the Cooperative Sydney Digital Print is holding an open night at 7pm, Unit 50, 7-9 Percy Street, Auburn.
“We would like to introduce a low-risk opportunity to become a member of this organisation,” El Gabaili said.
Operating under a hub-and-spoke model, where the cooperative is the manufacturing hub and the members form the sales spokes, El Gabaili believes the system is an attractive option for printers.
“The role of the manufacturing hub in this model is to produce work in the most cost-effective manner possible and make available these products at cost price to member,” he said. “The benefits are countless.”
