Digital printing company hopes to leave a lasting impression
Former Xeikon managing director Warren Davey has his eye on the digital market with new printing solutions company, The Digital Impressions Group.
Described by Davey as "a work in progress", The Digital Impressions Group was specifically designed to supply digital printing solutions to the graphic arts market throughout Australia and New Zealand.
"It's reinforcing what we believe to be true," Davey explained. "We believe that the key to success with digital is being one hundred per cent focused on the supply and support of digital printing solutions and nothing else."
Davey believes that The Digital Impressions Group is the only printing company to take this approach. "I don't think there is any other supplier in the graphic arts industry that is exclusive to digital," he said. "Others have a big footprint in it but they cater to a broader market. We're pretty unique."
Users have reacted well to the company's services. "The response we're getting from people is extremely positive because our approach is understood and appreciated," he said.
The company is currently selling equipment from the French-based MGI. "They see themselves as the technological convergence between digital and offset printing," Davey said. "They offer some unique possibilities for people as an entry into digital printing without having enormous outlays."
Insisting that "we're not focussed on any one brand but a solution across a number of brands at the one time", Davey expects that the company will build its portfolio over the coming months.
