Drago flies the Aussie flag in Chicago
Drago accepted the Benny awards at the Printing Industries of America event for his D&D&U6 publication, a special promotional catalogue produced by D&D Global to show off its famed 12-colour printing process. The unique imaging technique was developed over many years at the cost of millions of dollars in research and development.
Drago is ecstatic over his company's success at the awards, pointing it out as the only printer in the world to ever to win the They Said It Couldn't Be Done award more than once. “This also represents the third year in a row that D&D Global has been a winner at the Benny awards, as we picked up three in 2004 and a further two in 2003,” he says.

Drago claims that getting a publication such as D&D&U6 off the ground is a long and arduous process, and the result concentrated effort on behalf of D&D Global to get the most out of its famed imaging process.
“The challenges of producing a job like D&D&U Issue 6 are numerous and sometimes difficult to overcome,” says Drago. “Each phase, from design to the final hand bindery, has produced its own set of unique challenges.”
In addition, D&D Global picked up a best of Division award, three Certificate of Merits and seven Awards of Recognition.
For over 50 years the Benny Awards have been considered among the most prestigious prizes for the graphic arts industry, and in 2005 received over 5,000 entries from printers across 17 different countries.
