Aussie Dscoop Phoenix guests wowed by world's first HP Indigo 50000 press

HP's Dscoop USA conference, held in Phoenix earlier this month, featured a new vision for the user group, all-star speakers and cutting-edge technology - but it was after the conference that Aussie visitors got a real "wow" moment as HP showed off the first Indigo 50000 digital press installed anywhere in the world.

The group traveled from Phoenix, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada, to visit Digital Lizard, one of the most advanced digital print facilities in the U.S. The world first high volume digital press is among a sizeable array of HP digital equipment that includes a HP Indigo 12000 press, an amazing 12 HP Indigo 7900 presses, two HP Indigo 7250 presses, an HP Scitex LX850 grand-format poster/banner printer, and an HP DesignJet L25500 60” wide-format poster printer.

“These people know how to make digital printing work. I’ve never seen a more productive site,” said Phil Rennell, sales director Currie Group. “I think we were all very impressed.”

This year’s US Dscoop tour continues the growing commitment by local users to the HP users group. The four-day conference with its Imagine theme, proved to be only the start of the overall technology tour.

“We were privileged to be able to visit such a high-volume site as Digital Lizard. They don’t usually allow industry visitors but made an exception for the Australians. It was very valuable for all concerned,” said Rennell.

Dscoop USA ran from March 1-4 in the sun-drenched Arizona capital, with more than 2000 print service providers attending from all over the world. A new direction called 'Innovating Print, Together' was unveiled, which promised to grow Dscoop participation outside the exhibitions. “Our strategic intent is to expand the engagement of our customers and partners with Dscoop beyond the conference atmosphere. We’ll achieve this by launching innovative solutions and products to deliver value to our ecosystem,” said Keith Wilmot, CEO of Dscoop.
