Dscoop Asia Pacific has elected Dominion Print CEO Kelvin Gage as new board chairman as the HP users group turns its attention to China and India.
A meeting of the Dscoop APJ board in Singapore voted in Gage to replace outgoing chairman Keith Ferrel, the Cactus Imaging co-founder who was thanked for his ‘great service and contribution over the past two years.’
The two-day meeting focused on strategic initiatives and planning for the year ahead.
“2018 is a year of change in APJ where we will put a great emphasis on China and India,” says Gage. “In both countries, we will create local chapters lead by local PSPs from the different segments. These customers will define the path forward in their countries. In this way, we are able to reach more members and deliver relevant local events.
“After defining and aligning on our direction and what our focus should be, we deep-dived into the planning of the in-country events and regional conference planning. We voted for having the 2018 conference in Korea. The consensus was that in all our activities in the region, we need to maintain a balance between capturing the local flavours and local business needs and providing a regional and global networking opportunities.”
The meeting also elected a new board member from Japan. “One of our objectives this year was to extend the APJ board; Hayashi-san, Seikou CEO, has kindly agreed to join the board,” says Gage.
This month’s Dscoop roadshow featuring Bill Wieners of US-based print company Digital Lizard ends in Sydney on Monday, 23rd October.
