Eagle Farm franchisee is number-one

High-flying Eagle Farm store is named Kwik Kopy Australia 2008 Franchise of the Year.

Sandy Kochelak, owner of Kwik Kopy Eagle Farm, was presented with the award and a $5000 cheque by Kwik Kopy managing director David Bell in Brisbane at the company's USP launch.

"The comments I have received in regard to Eagle Farm's selection have been overwhelmingly positive which confirms our choice is a popular one," said Bell. "The centre is very well regarded by its peers, particularly in Queensland."

The award was judged by senior management at Kwik Kopy Australia, with Brisbane's Eagle Farm chosen from amongst a field of five finalists. All the finalists, which included Kwik Kopy franchises from across Australia, were selected on the basis of meeting or exceeding selected key performance indicators, including sales, sales growth, production efficiency, profit and profit growth. Kwik Kopy Eagle Farm scored highly across all areas, with David Bell describing the centre as a "true all-rounder".

"In addition to performing strongly across the selection criteria, Sandy also demonstrated an enlightened attitude to her staff," Bell said. "She rewards staff for their success and hard work, with Sandy and her team consistently providing a level of outstanding service to clients and participating in all of the activities that the Kwik Kopy franchise system has to offer."

Sandy Kochelak is known throughout the Kwik Kopy network for rewarding her staff for a job well done. In the past she has taken her team of five employees to Sea World for the weekend after a record breaking month of sales. It was no surprise that in receiving the Franchisee of the Year Award, Kochelak was quick to praise her staff.

"My team comprises a variety of different personalities and backgrounds, but we all get on and work well together as a team," she said. "It is always nice to receive recognition such as this, and the award is a tribute to my loyal, capable and hard working staff."

Kochelak and her colleagues have lifted Eagle Farm's sales volume by nearly fifty per cent since she brought the store with her husband Henry, who takes a more behind the scenes role, just over five years ago.

Kochelak has no intention of resting on her laurels and remains dedicated to continuing Eagle Farm's reputation. "I am always motivated to get up and get to work by the sense of achievement that comes with successfully helping our customers," she said.
