Entries make a splash at PrintNSW Excellence Awards
A crowd of 240 people attended this year's PrintNSW Excellence Awards.
Robert Fuller, general manager of Printing Industries, declared the night a great success - both socially and in terms of the quality of entries received. "It went exceptionally well," he said. "There were so many people who stayed around to enjoy the celebrations after the event had finished."
With the theme, 'a splash of colour', the Darling Harbour Dockside venue was transformed into a sea of multicoloured tables and lighting. In keeping with the theme, each table was also presented with the challenge of inventing a new label and slogan for an imaginary beverage, Splash.
Fun and games aside, judging of the entries was tougher than ever this year. Chairman of the awards committee, Warwick Roden, said: "The quality of the entries was noticeably higher than last year ... and last year was already at a very high standard."
Mr. Fuller reiterated this claim in his own opinion of the entries. "It was both challenging and delightful to see the cream of what was presented," he said.
"Clearly, not everyone can win, but the standard was just so high that judges were looking at the cream of quality of NSW printing."
