Entries have opened for the PANPA Advertising & Marketing Awards for news media publishers from around the Asia-Pacific region.

The annual awards recognise and celebrate advertising and marketing campaigns created by the news media industry, as well as creative, sales and marketing teams in Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and Asia.

The event, which attracted a record 450 entries last year, features three key categories: Advertising, Marketing and Executive Excellence, and is presented in conjunction with the annual industry conference.

“The Advertising & Marketing Awards are a hugely popular and prestigious awards event that reflects news media excellence across all platforms,” said Mark Hollands, chief executive, The Newspaper Works. “They recognise the outstanding talent and work that is reshaping how the news media industry markets and sells itself to readers, advertisers and media agencies.”

The Advertising categories recognise publishers’ in-house work only, while both agency and in-house executions are eligible for the Marketing categories.

Entries for the 2016 Advertising & Marketing Awards close on Friday, May 27, and finalists will be announced on Wednesday, July 6. Winners will be announced on Thursday, September 1, at a cocktail event at the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney.

Entries for the Newspaper of the Year Awards will be open from Monday, June 6, to Friday, July 1, with finalists announced on Wednesday, August 3. Winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner on Friday, September 2, at The Ivy Ballroom in Sydney.
