Macartney chooses Epson RIPS printer

Like most real estate businesses, Macartney Real Estate prints a lot of documents, which is why their in-office print solution is so important. Recently the company overhauled their entire printing system and installed an Epson WorkForce Pro WF-R5690 Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) printing solution to satisfy all of their requirements.

“We purchased the WF-R5690 printer to replace a number of laser printers we had that were unreliable,” says Macartney Real Estate Principal Simon de Crespigny. “We needed a fast and reliable machine that was easy for our staff to access and use, so we did a lot of research and the Epson RIPS printer came up as the best available option by far.”

There were several factors that led Macartney to the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-R5690, he says. “Reliability, ease of use and flexible printing. The Epson representative was well informed about the printer’s capabilities and our requirements. The evaluation process also made us realise how it was better and more efficient to go with an inkjet printer instead of continuing with laser printers. Inkjet printers have come a very long way from the days of clogged printer heads and the WF-R5690 with its guaranteed no-clogging, is an excellent example of that.”

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-R5690 workgroup printer enables Macartney Real Estate’s offices to benefit from the increased productivity of a local distributed print fleet that requires minimal intervention, while providing predictable print costs.

“There are more cost benefits and savings too,” says De Crespigny. “The WF-R5690 uses up to 80 percent less power than competitive colour lasers thanks to its no heat technology. No ozone gas is emitted, and an improved quiet print mode and no fan noise during or after printing make it ideal for the working environment. There are also fewer parts to replace than a laser. We can also get more done with print speeds of up to 34 pages a minute in black and white and 30 pages per minute in colour. Its high paper capacity of up to 580 sheets means less time is spent refilling and its automatic double-sided printing, scanning, copying and faxing makes any job easy and efficient.”

“This printer is perfect for our needs. The use of a long life ink bags and guarantee against a clogging printer head are major plus points. Then there’s its small footprint and low running costs plus flexible print options, including the ability to print one-metre-long vinyl sheets for use in outdoor applications. In the office sense it’s a very easy to use network printer for all the company’s printing requirements and in short does everything it says it will and more.”

1R14X Black ink pack prints about 50,000 pages. R14X Colour Packs print about 50,000 pages on average. Actual number of pages will vary. Replacement ink pack yields are based on testing with ISO/IEC 24712 patterns with Epson’s methodology in Default mode, printing continuously. Yields may vary considerably for reasons that include images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink colour. All ink colours are used for printing and printer maintenance. For print quality, part of the ink from the included cartridges or ink packs is used for printer startup and a variable amount of ink remains in the ink pack after the "replace ink pack" signal appears.
