Fast PRINT move ahead with Canon imagePRESS C7000VP

New Zealand company Fast PRINT spent 20 years working in offset printing before moving over to digital five years ago.

In that time, managing director Graeme Foote and his team have witnessed the varying levels of success in the digital sector; but it was the Canon 7000 that turned the company's head. Since then, there has been no looking back.

"I saw the machine printing at IPEX in England last year," Foote recounts. "It was the first time I'd seen that sort of quality and throughput from this type of equipment. Suddenly, ideas started to race through my head about opportunities that once would not have been possible for us."

Some five months later and Fast PRINT has become a success story and taken advantage of the many opportunities that the 7000 has to offer. Now able to turn around jobs in less than 24 hours and not having to wait for sheets to dry, Foote looks back on the days before the 7000 was installed and notes the difference. "It's been a quantum change," he observes.

Many companies promise customers the world, but few deliver on these promises. Canon isn't one of those, according to Foote, who says that it was Canon's long-standing reputation that clinched the deal.

"I like Canon and the way it operates," he says. "The people are great to operate with, I've got a lot of confidence with them."
