A new HP Scitex UV flatbed FB700 printer will allow Brisbane-based Fireworks Digital to quadruple its production capacity and print a range of new materials.
‘We’ve taken a giant step forward and installed a new 700 series 2.5m wide HP UV flatbed with roll to roll and white ink capability,” said Stephen Boyd, director, Fireworks Digital. “It will enable us to quadruple our production capacity and further reduce costs.”
Boyd said the family-owned business that he runs with his wife and co-director Kerry-Anne Boyd was looking to do ‘big things’ in the future, with no job too big or too small.
“The Scitex allows us to print new materials such as acoustic sound absorbing panels, direct-to-glass for splashbacks and elevators, carpet for trade shows, special events and exhibitions. We've also been working on a new decorative wall panel that is aimed at making a dramatic impact on feature walls and lift lobbies in the apartment and housing markets - as well as conventional signage substrates, of course.
“Fireworks was the first and only company in Queensland to offer white ink UV printing in 2006 and we’ve always looked to set the benchmark in quality, service and value,” said Boyd. “We were also the first to install a Latex ink printer in 2010 and today we’re running Gen 3 Latex inkjet printers, as well as ecosol, pigment and dye sub printers. Nationwide installation services are also available.
"Fireworks was established 13 years now, primarily to service the trade with wholesale large format digital products. This market still represents 90% to 95% of our work today, with many repeat clients relying on us to complement their business needs and add value to their service offerings."
