First aid course keeps staff educated on print safety

A group of 15 people from seven companies were the first to graduate recently from Printing Industries NSW new nationally accredited one-day first aid course for the printing industry.

Participants were taken out of the training room and onto the floor for practical application of some of their newly learned techniques in one of many hands-on scenarios covered by the course as it guided them down the path of treating injuries and saving lives.

Printing Industries national manager, learning and development, Ian Walz, said he had received very good feedback from participants on the course content and presentation.

“I think participants appreciated the customisation of the course for printing business scenarios and, very importantly, the step-by-step instruction format in a very focussed but casual environment,” he said.

“The intense single day as opposed to two-day format was also well received and will be repeated in the future following this success.”

At the end of course, all participants received a nationally accredited First Aid Certificate, a wallet-sized plastic First Aid card and a 255 page full colour First Aid Manual.
