First ImageRUNNER for World Wide Online Printing
One of Australia’s largest design and print franchise businesses, World Wide Online Printing (WWOP), has installed two new Canon ImageRUNNER presses, the first of their kind to be adopted by the growing franchise.
The two Canon ImageRUNNER Advance 9075 units were installed in two Brisbane CBD WWOP premises late last month in a response to growing digital colour printing demand from the businesses’ customers.
“The colour digital mix is getting bigger by revenue, and it’s been the key part of our growth over the last four or five years,” says Andrew Robertson, director of WWOP. “We knew an investment in it would be easily justified.”
Since their installation, the two new light production presses have enabled the WWOP shops to meet their customers’ digital colour demands. Running at a production speed of up to 75 pages per minute, and with the increased paper volume that is provided by the unit’s three feeders, Robertson says the units can be run overnight for maximum capacities.
“It had larger high-capacity feeders than other machines in the same space of the market,” says Robertson. “With three high capacity feeder trays, we can leave it running overnight and come back to a bigger portion of the job done in the morning.”

It is, however, the Canon machine’s inline finishing capabilities that have been of the most benefit for WWOP, with Robertson claiming the inline finishing facilities of the unit has saved his company thousands of dollars in labour-intensive offline binding.
“The opportunity to have inline facilities, like punchers, was one of the key factors in choosing this machine, and something we haven’t seen at this price-point,” says Robertson. “Saving manual labour on the binding has been saving us tens of thousands of dollars a year.”
The ImageRUNNER series has been popular with smaller CBD-based print shop premises because of its machines’ small floor footprint dimensions with their built-in installation rib. “We have to be careful of the footprint, so to have a separate stand with a rib on it, there’s a space-saver there,” says Robertson.
With a third Brisbane WWOP franchise opening soon, the company will be considering the installation of a third ImageRUNNER machine in the coming months.
